Mike Borland
Graduated from Baylor Law School with honors in 1981. He was Notes and Comments editor of the Baylor Law Review, and a member of The Order of Barristers. His preferred areas of practice are Immigration and Personal Injury. He is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has handled numerous removal cases and asylum claims, and successfully claimed asylum for a Mexican Police Sergeant from Juarez before an Immigration Judge in El Paso, Texas. The firm does pro bono work, particularly in VAWA and U visa cases when the clients are unable to afford representation, and has represented clients for Probar in South Texas in the past. The firm employs two full time Immigration Legal Assistants and an Immigration Secretary.
His personal injury practice includes Oil Field, Refinery and Petrochemical Processing Facility serious injury and death cases. He handles both employer gross negligence death claims and third party negligence claims in these areas of practice.
Mr. Borland is admitted to practice before all Texas State and U.S. District Courts, The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and The United States Supreme Court, and has appellate experience in Texas Courts of Appeal, the Texas Supreme Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U. S. Supreme Court. He is a member of The Texas Bar Association, The Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit, the American Immigration Lawyers Association and its Texas Chapter. He is fluent in Spanish, is an instrument rated pilot and a member of Mensa.
