Ingrid K. Brey is an AV–rated attorney with extensive experience and expertise in all types of immigrations matters, including business and employment matters, health care professionals, investor visas and naturalization matters.
She is a nationally recognized expert on immigration issues in the field of health care, with a sub-specialty in immigration for physicians. She frequently speaks before physician and legal groups on this topic. Ms. Brey annually speaks to the Michigan Association for Medical Education (MAME) during its spring meeting. In May 2009 she presented on the topic of "IMGs: H v J" before the national meeting of the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine in Dallas, Texas. In October 2009 she presented at the American Immigration Lawyers Association's (AILA) nationally televised panel entitled, "Immigration Options for Physicians: Advanced Strategies for Providing Proper Diagnosis and Treatment," and will also speak at the 2010 national AILA conference on the topic, “Lobbying for the Government’s Interest: Advanced IGA J-1 Waivers."
Ms. Brey was Chair of AILA's National Physician's Committee (2003) and served as the point person on the Department of State Liaison Committee, assisting physicians and their employers on J-1 visa waiver issues (2006-2008). Ms. Brey authors a chapter entitled "Immigration" in the Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s hornbook, Employment Law in Michigan. Her article, "Immigration Law for the Employment Lawyer," appeared in the Michigan Bar Journal in January 2009.
Ms. Brey is listed in Best Lawyers in America, SuperLawyers and was again this year recognized by Crain's Detroit Business as one of the best immigration lawyers in the Detroit area.
