Ms. Terai is known for her problem solving skill with a dynamic approach and excellent preparation for the case, and has extensive experience in immigration laws, including business, family, and naturalization.
At AILA, Ms. Terai served as a member of Board of Publications (2011 - 2020), a Message Center Moderator for the AILA members (2013 -2021), DEI (2022-) and has been volunteering actively at the NY Chapter, having served as a co-chair for the CLE Comm 2007-2008, Distant Leraning Comm (2021-2022) and DEI (2022-).
Ms. Terai's recent speaking engagements include DEI NY Chapter CLE (2023), and Sports Immigration Law Conference by Central Florida Chapter (2023).
Ms. Terai has been serving as a Judge for the annual Immigration Moot Court at NYU School of Law since 2015, which is open to law school students nationwide.
Ms. Terai has been appearing at TV, newspaper and magazine, and speaking engagements include a panelist at Harvard Law School's international conference and NYC non-profit organization for entrepreneurs, among others.
Back in Japan, Ms. Terai worked for the Prime Minister's Office and Management and Coordination Agency under the PMO for 11 years that gave her keen insights on government procedures.
Ms. Terai has an LL.M. from Harvard Law School, an LL.M.in Trade Regulation from New York University where she served as a Graduate Editor for the Journal of International Law and Politics.
She also has an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, BA in economics,The University of Tokyo and a BA in Law,Waseda University.
