Ivan J. Gilbert is an associate in the Immigration Practice group of Wuersch & Gering LLP (see below). His practice focuses on employment- and family-based immigration law, including trader/investor, professional, intracompany transferee, NAFTA and extraordinary ability-based visa and labor certification matters. Before joining Wuersch & Gering LLP, Mr. Gilbert served as an associate with the New York office of Paparelli & Partners LLP. Prior thereto he gained more than 20 years of experience as an immigration paralegal, assisting multinational corporations, research organizations, financial companies, and individuals.
Mr. Gilbert earned a B.A. degree in Talmud (Jewish Law) from The Jewish Theological Seminary of America in 1986, where he received the Sara Goldin Lewittes Award and the Sylvia Morgenlander Prize. He also attended The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Columbia University while majoring in history. Mr. Gilbert obtained his J.D. degree from Concord Law School in January 2007, having been named to the Dean’s List and as a Distinguished Scholar. He was also nominated to the National Dean’s List® two years in a row. Recently, Mr. Gilbert was nominated as a Best Lawyer in New York by LegalForce Media Publications. He currently serves as Chairman of Business Development & Commercial Exchange of the Romanian American Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Gilbert is admitted to the State Bar of California and the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the American Bar Association. Mr. Gilbert is conversant in Hebrew and Romanian.
